The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Spring Day Camp Counselor to join our team!

As a Spring Day Camp Counselor, you will get to know a small group of campers and supervise them through a range of fun activities such as swimming, playing games, participating in sports, and learning arts and crafts all while keeping them engaged and safe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and assist group activities, transitions, time fillers, and songs.
- Complete group head counts.
- Provide parent communication through parent communication cards.
- Complete accident and incident reports when necessary.
- Cleaning and sanitation protocols will be required of all staff.
Qualifications:
- Six months or more of related experience (preferred).
- Positive attitude and previous experience with children and diverse populations
- Knowledge and skills in day camp program activities and related equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age-appropriate techniques.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day, and other online and in-person training as required
Wage: $16.66 to $17.16 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Hours: Full-Time, Seasonal Camp
Dates: April 7, 2025 – April 11, 2025
Location: Haselwood Family YMCA, Silverdale, WA

Provide a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

- Plan, lead and assist group activities, transitions, time fillers and songs.
- Assist Unit Leader and Activity Leaders in specialty camps.
- Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
- Complete group head counts
- Provide parent communication through parent communication cards

- Other duties as assigned.
