The YMCA of Pueblo is looking for Summer Staff for our resident camp at YMCA Camp Jackson in Rye, Colorado. Camp Jackson Staff live an active outdoor lifestyle. Our team of dedicated professionals work closely together in the beautiful San Isabel National Forest to create meaningful outdoor experiences for youth and families.
Camp Jackson is looking for a Camping Services Coordinator who will enthusiastically represent the YMCA by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. The Camping Services Coordinator must embody the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Camping Services Coordinator will assist the Camp Director with designing programs, contacting parents, writing curriculums, and building registrations. They will also oversee staff members during training and support them during programs.

- Staff supervision
- Child/Youth development
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training and staff meetings
- Act as a positive role model for campers and other staff, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in the performance of job duties
- Develop Programming alongside the Camp Director
- Play an active role in all camp activities
- Will work stay over weekends as assigned
- Evaluate current season and make suggestions for future season
- To perform all other duties as needed or assigned
- Program design and implementation
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required
- At least 21 years of age
- Wilderness First Aid Certification Required
- Lifeguard Certification preferred
- Previous overnight camp experience preferred
- High School Diploma required; College degree preferred
- Minimum of three months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with middle school age children and teens. Six months is preferred.
- Must have a sincere and genuine interest in working with youth and should relate well to all age levels and backgrounds of people.
- Physically fit and able to hike, walk, stand, bend and lift comfortable over the course of a day
- Mentally and visually alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents
- Physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer emergency care effectively
- Previous work with teen leadership programs preferred
- 2 years previous camp experience preferred
- 1 year previous supervisory experience preferred
