Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing an appropriately safe, caring, and enriching environment for the children enrolled in the YMCA Day Camp Program, ages 5 to 12 years old
- Lead children through fun interactive activates such as weekly field trips, arts & crafts, gym games and so much more
- Create positive lasting memories for each child, each day
- Work in a team environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents, or co-workers through verbal and written communication
- Initiate and maintain positive relationships with all staff, directors, parents, and students who attend the YMCA Day Camp Program
- Comply with all emergency procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with procedures adopted by emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of the children and staff
- Keep areas clean, and up to Colorado State Licensing standards
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years old or 21 years old for anyone willing to drive the bus
- Previous experience working with children preferred
- Skills to appropriately supervise and direct school-age children in an unstructured setting
- Active field trips will be taken. Applicant must be physically capable of participating in all field trips and all activities that take place
- Applicant must become certified to belay on the rock wall
- Applicant must be willing to swim during Camp Swim
- Applicant must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- CPR/First Aid Certification will be required within 30 days of employment. We will offer a CPR/FA class to those not certified
