POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The executive leads the total operation of a YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development/fundraising, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Represents and promotes the YMCA as a transformational leader in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety (risk management) and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to
    the community.
  • Serves as a member of Y leadership team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards
  • Follows health standards, procedures and recommendations around health screening, cleaning and sanitizing
  • Keeps assigned areas neat, clean, organized and free of clutter; limiting personal items brought to work
  • Actively walk-through facility/program engaging with members/participants, keeping vigilant for potential health and/or safety risks, and clean/disinfect and put away equipment/supplies
  • Ensure that all equipment/supplies (ie. Fitness, Group Exercise, Welcome Center, Locker Rooms, Gym, and Other Rooms) are in working order. If not, prompt action (or request for action) is taken.
  • Replace supplies (soap, paper towels, wipes, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and others) in the facility/program, as needed.
  • May need to utilize remote working conditions/assignment, according to policy and approved agreement.
  • May require cross training and cross functioning of current position.
  • May need to utilize available resources to provide virtual experiences for members, participants, staff, and the community.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
  • Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to lead total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $100,000.00-$125,000.00

Emotional Maturity: Demonstrates ability to understand and manage emotions effectively in all situations.

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
