Supervisor : Marketing & Communications Director

Hours Per Week : 6 Hours

This role requires travel between two YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina branch locations.

The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina is seeking a creative and organized part-time Marketing Assistant to support the marketing and communications needs of the Sampson County YMCA and YMCA Camp Kirkwood. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping share the Y's mission and programs with the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, an eye for design, and a proactive approach to managing projects. This position requires on-site work two days per month at the Sampson County YMCA and two days per month at YMCA Camp Kirkwood.

Essential Functions :

Social Media Management

Create, curate, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms to highlight programs, events, and initiatives.

Monitor and respond to comments and messages, maintaining a positive and engaging online presence.

Brand Compliance

Review and ensure all print and digital materials adhere to YMCA brand guidelines.

Provide feedback or revisions as needed to maintain consistency and quality.

Content Creation

Gather photos, videos, and testimonials from on-site activities, events, and programs.

Collaborate with staff to develop content ideas that align with YMCA goals.

Newsletters

Assist in gathering and organizing content for monthly email newsletters.

Proofread and ensure accuracy before distribution.

Requirements : Qualifications

Strong communication and writing skills.

Organized with excellent attention to detail.

A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Some college coursework in marketing, communications, or related fields preferred.

Photography and / or video editing skills are a bonus.
