Job Title: Day Camp Coordinator

FLSA Status: Seasonal May-August

Pay Rate: Stipend: $475-525 a week based on experience (Sun-Fri) | Room and Board Provided

Reports to: Director of Camping and Outdoor Education Revision Date: 11-1-2023

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Lead or provide support to activities and staff where necessary

2. Facilitate ropes, target sports, aquatics, and many more camp activities

3. All other duties as assigned by the director

4. Oversee day to day operations including schedules, busses, check in/out and parent communication

5. Provide direct supervision to youth and staff

6. Lead or provide support to activities and staff when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA.

2. This position requires experience working with youth

3. Proven leadership skills and collaboration

4. Have or willing to obtain First Aid, CPR, or Lifeguard or ropes

5. Willingness to have fun, laugh, and be silly with a love of the outdoors

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to provide a physical exam by a medical provider

2. Must be able to see, hear, and speak clearly.

3. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

4. Must be in good health, able to bend, stand, stoop, walk, climb and work outside in all terrain and weather conditions for extended periods of time.

5. Must be able to comprehend and communicate written and or verbal instructions.

6. Comfortable working at heights and around water.
