Supervisor: Marketing & Communications Director
Hours Per Week: 6 Hours
- This role requires travel between two YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina branch locations.
The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina is seeking a creative and organized part-time Marketing Assistant to support the marketing and communications needs of the Sampson County YMCA and YMCA Camp Kirkwood. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping share the Y's mission and programs with the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, an eye for design, and a proactive approach to managing projects. This position requires on-site work two days per month at the Sampson County YMCA and two days per month at YMCA Camp Kirkwood.
Essential Functions:
Social Media Management
- Create, curate, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms to highlight programs, events, and initiatives.
- Monitor and respond to comments and messages, maintaining a positive and engaging online presence.
Brand Compliance
- Review and ensure all print and digital materials adhere to YMCA brand guidelines.
- Provide feedback or revisions as needed to maintain consistency and quality.
Content Creation
- Gather photos, videos, and testimonials from on-site activities, events, and programs.
- Collaborate with staff to develop content ideas that align with YMCA goals.
Newsletters
- Assist in gathering and organizing content for monthly email newsletters.
- Proofread and ensure accuracy before distribution.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Organized with excellent attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Some college coursework in marketing, communications, or related fields preferred.
- Photography and/or video editing skills are a bonus.
