The YMCA is currently seeking enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated candidates for the following position: Front Desk Attendant
This is a seasonal position (Spring and Summer 2025), with the possibility to continue year round. Interviews will be held in February. There will be two options for training: 2/17- 2/19 and 3/10 - 3/12.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Membership Director, the front desk staff performs reception duties including processing of membership and program registrations and preparation of related materials and files. Provides informational services regarding the programs and fees of the association. Greets members and guests in person and on the telephone.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. AGE: Must be 18 or older.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Processes special program and camp registrations and guest passes, keeping files for reporting purposes.
- Operates computerized cash register and is responsible for handling monies received from membership and program registrations in their assigned cash drawer.
- Closes out cash drawer at end of work shift with cash report.
- Performs clerical functions as needed.
- Assists in performing the receptionist function, door security, member access and exit; greets members with a customer friendly attitude.
- Develops a positive work relationship with other staff.
- Assists in telephone information services relating to the association’s programs.
- Promotes character development with members and staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with children.
- Attends required abuse risk management training.
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
