ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with program and all activities. (“Y” on the Fly, youth sports and youth fitness)
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Implements lesson/activity plans.
- Supervises the children and all activities.
- Follows all procedures and work instructions, using resources responsibly and effectively.
- Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers..
- Maintains program site, equipment, and required program records.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of participants.
- Responsibility to meet the basic needs of participants and to assure their safety and well-being.
- Ensuring interactions with participants is in a positive manner.
Qualifications/Responsibilities
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
