POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for managing the recruitment process for the YMCA of the Inland Northwest, including job posting, recruitment, interviewing, and job offers. The Recruiting Coordinator is the main point of contact for all job applicants and provides an excellent, timely, and seamless experience for job applicants and hiring supervisors. The Recruiting Coordinator develops relationships in the community to support the YMCA of the Inland Northwest’s recruitment efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Manages the recruitment process and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for the Association. Utilizes the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to post requisitions. Posts openings internally and on external channels depending on the needs of the hiring supervisors. Develops postings that are a good reflection of the YMCA brand and are appealing for job applicants.
- Meets with hiring supervisors to understand their hiring needs and applicant screening criteria for their open positions. Including but not limited to : work experience, certifications, days / hours of work availability, etc.
- Manages all job applicants in a timely manner. Reaches out to job applicants as soon as possible after their application. Conducts initial phone screen to determine if the applicant meets the hiring supervisor’s initial criteria.
- Schedules in person interviews for supervisors and candidates. Provides information to applicants on when and where their interview will take place. Ensures supervisors have interview guides and other resources to conduct the interview. Provides consultation and guidance to the hiring supervisor on the interview process, utilizing YMCA tools.
- Conducts reference checks and other screenings for candidates prior to the job offer.
- Extends job offers to candidates on behalf of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest. Provides all on boarding materials to the HR Assistant in a timely manner.
- Continuously communicates with both the supervisor and candidate regarding their status. Ensures a quick response time for candidates and supervisors to fill positions as quickly as possible.
- Utilizes various forms of technology to streamline and continually improve the recruitment process and ensure the most efficient use of time reaching out to applicants, scheduling interviews, and communicating with hiring supervisors.
- Develops relationships with local Universities and other relevant organizations to accomplish hiring goals.
- Assists in the organization of seasonal hiring events and recruiting to support seasonal YMCA hiring (including Summer Day Camp, Camp Reed, and City of Spokane Valley Outdoor Pools).
- Furthers the YMCA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts through relationship building in the community and aligning recruitment efforts with YMCA goals.
- Attends hiring events on behalf of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest and provides a presence in the community for YMCA careers.
- Works with marketing and HR team on social media campaigns and other marketing of open positions.
- Provides statistics on the number of applicants and hire conversions. Regularly monitors success through surveys and other methods to ensure needs of applicants and hiring supervisors are being met.

STARTING PAY : $21-23 / hour depending on experience
