The YMCA of the Roses has an exciting new job opportunity for an individual looking to work 20 hours per week as part of the accounting team!
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Junior Accountant maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and coordinates intermediate level accounting functions such as general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Upload financial data to Reclique Core
- Process and enter cash receipts for accounts receivable (AR)
- Conduct bank runs and deposit property group funds
- Create and enter AR invoices and receipts
- Record and track monthly ACH deposits and receipts
- Download and review bank statements, ensuring all statements are received for property groups each month
- Organize and maintain a filing system for financial records and property groups
- Enter invoices for property groups
- Manage credit card transactions, including YMCA-related purchases (e.g., Lowe's, Home Depot, Rutter's)
- Maintain copies of checks and supporting financial documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field preferred. Associate's degree in accounting/ related field plus at least two years of accounting experience, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to work with confidential matters
