This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the COO, the Senior Executive Director of Sports, Ice and the Lafayette Y leads the overall delivery of existing programs and develops new opportunities for strengthening the YMCA of Northern Colorado. Provides leadership to assigned branch operations and association departments including sports and ice. The Senior Executive Director will provide staff with leadership to improving and enriching program offerings via ongoing quality improvement and innovation.

The Senior Executive Director will provide staff with leadership to improving and enriching program offerings via ongoing quality improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, business, human services, related field or equivalent.
- Four or more years of experience in program management, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens training, Oxygen, Lifeguard instructor, Certified Pool Operator and Swim Lesson
- Instructor certifications required.
- Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
- Oversees the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff.
- Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
- Develops, manages, and monitors operating budgets for the specific branch and program areas and meets or exceeds budget targets.
- Works closely with the marketing department to ensure all marketing deadlines are met and initiatives are successful, may organize and schedule program registrations.
- Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member and program participant engagement strategies.
- Models’ relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
- Develops standards and procedures to ensure the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment and ensures the implementation throughout the association.
- Identifies potential areas for cooperative programming to accomplish YMCA goals and works with staff groups to develop and implement Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs and leads branch staff in the planning, development and implementation of new program initiatives and activities.
- Supports the financial development activities of the branch and program areas.
- Coordinates the development of program committees and branch Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the association.
- Serves as a member of Y executive management team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
- Participates in required Manager on Duty shifts.
- Monitors daily operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA regulations, health and safety standards and policies.
- Directly supervises operations as needed and when directed by association needs.
- Compiles program Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Establish new program activities and expand programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating This includes creating, implementing and scheduling sports and ice programs.
