Sports Coordinator-Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Youth Development Director, in cooperation with the YMCA staff, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Sports Coordinator will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all youth sports. Responsibilities also include special events, marketing, planning, evaluating and implementing youth sports leagues. Assist with the implementation, development, and monitoring of all adult sports league, recreation programs, summer sports camps, and clinics. With a leadership role in youth summer sports programming.

- Monitor and maintain proper field and facility conditions and pre-game field and facility preparations.
- Promote character development in all programs.
- Leadership role in youth summer sports programming.
- Assist with the implementation of program marketing materials.
- Assist in recruiting volunteers for coaching and season volunteers
- Assist in staff development and building staff moral
- Assist in securing sports sponsorship and participation in Community Outreach
- Assist in keeping field, facilities, storage areas and offices clean, neat and organized
- Assist in preseason preparations of ordering, sorting, and inventory uniforms and equipment
- Carry out special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High-School diploma or related experience.
- Minimum of one year experience working in a quality youth sports program.
- Ability to learn and adhere to the YMCA programs, philosophies and mission.
- Must present a professional image and possess excellent written and oral skills.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen within 60 days
- Strong public relations, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong desire and ability to work with children.
- Ability to work in and resolve conflict situations.
