The Midland YMCA seeks an energized and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Finance.
Job Description
The position of Director of Finance requires exceptional accounting leadership and strategic planning skills; a deep understanding of accounting management in the nonprofit sector; and the ability to align financial strategies with the mission and goals of the YMCA of Midland. The Director of Finance must also possess effective communication skills to convey financial information to diverse stakeholders, utilizing both traditional and modern communication channels to promote financial transparency and ensure the fiscal health of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance. CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 year of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of general business matters and accounting processes required including accrual and / or fund accounting, budget development, financial reporting, cash management, payroll, banking, investments, and debt financing instruments. Application of GAAP is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, & Outlook), ability to develop and use spreadsheets and standard business software systems.
