What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program and Membership Director position at YMCA?
Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Program and Membership Director will manage all aspects of adult & youth fitness/wellness/sports and recreation programs, fundraising events, and membership of the MAC Branch YMCA in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of the association.
A Bachelor’s degree in fitness, recreation management, business, or a related field.
A background in fitness, sports development, or program management.
Experience in leading a team, supervising staff, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
A passion for working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a forward-thinking mindset.
Oversee the operation of all fitness and recreation programs, including group exercise, personal training, martial arts, and active older adult programming.
Direct membership initiatives, working alongside the Membership Marketing Committee to promote recruitment and retention through creative promotions and challenges.
Manage staff, volunteers, and program budgets to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective operations.
Assist in the planning and supervision of special events.
Build partnerships with local schools, businesses, and community organizations to promote the YMCA’s mission and services.
