Located on nearly 1500 forested acres in the Town of Becket, nestled within the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA camp that operates programs serving hundreds of campers. Boasting over a century of tradition, our industry-leading programs include the Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls, the Travel & Service Programs, and Becket Day Camp.
About the Role
Under the direction of the Operations Coordinator, you will serve as primary customer-facing team member in our main office. Provide administrative and clerical support services to ensure the smooth running of the main office. As the first point of contact for many visitors to our administrative office, a welcoming and helpful approach is critical for all who contact us either in person or by phone.

Schedule & Hours
On or about May 19th - September 1st. Up to 30 hours per week. Typically, Monday–Friday between the hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm with schedule to be arranged by supervisor. May require occasional evenings and weekends.
General Working Conditions
Ability to work schedule as assigned with occasional evening and weekend hours.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Experience working in an office environment with ability to use office equipment desired
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Effective use of a wide range of communication tools including the phone, texting, messaging, video conferencing, and emailing
- Friendly outgoing demeanor and can do attitude
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality of private and personal information
- Camp experience is a plus!
- Answer calls on the main phone number, responding to general questions and transferring calls as appropriate
- Serves as receptionist to greet visitor and vendors following sign in procedures to include screening and issuing of parking passes
- Notifies appropriate staff and camp offices of visitors, directing visitors as requested
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of the front office, including ordering and organizing office supplies as needed
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail and packages
- Prepares and generates reports, lists, and labels
- Routinely conducts inventory of office supplies and places orders as needed
- Provides administrative and clerical support to year round and seasonal staff as assigned
- May provide coverage in camp offices during the summer months as needed
- As a member of the administrative support team, assist with checking-in seasonal staff and “paperwork parties” as scheduled
Be available on camp session drop off/pick up days to greet parents and caregivers (Two Sundays)
