Position Overview: THE COMPANY is seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Construction Coordinator to oversee and manage mechanical building system startups, commissioning activities, construction coordination, and contractor oversight at its Georgetown, KY facility. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mechanical engineering, construction management, safety regulations, and compliance with industry standards.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required):
-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, construction coordination, or facilities management.
-Mechanical system commissioning, building construction, and project management
-Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), safety best practices
-Experience with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and contractor oversight
-Familiarity with industry standards and building codes (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)

🔹 Mechanical System Startups & Commissioning.
- Oversee startup and commissioning of mechanical building systems.
- Coordinate equipment testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety codes, and quality standards.
- Manage daily field construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assessments to confirm compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Act as a liaison between construction teams and project management, providing field engineering reports and progress updates.
- Facilitate weekend and plant shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities teams, and manufacturing shops.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and industry safety standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Electrical Safe Work Practices, Arc Flash Safety, and Control of Hazardous Energy.
- Ensure compliance with prevailing building codes (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
- Monitor mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods and safety best practices.
- Review and manage product/equipment submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor documentation.
- Support construction administration activities, including schedule coordination, utility outages, and weekly project meetings.
- Prepare field engineering reports on work progress, safety compliance, and contractor performance.
- Provide feedback to enhance technical specifications and project standards.
