What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Help Desk Technician position at Yolo Federal Credit Union?
Yolo Federal Credit Union is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Help Desk Technician (40 hours per week) responsible for day-to-day support of all credit union information technology hardware and software. The IT Help Desk Technician works closely with IT staff to ensure the reliability and security of the credit union’s data and systems; and assists the IT department in researching, planning, and implementing new technologies to improve member access and staff efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for all business software and hardware, and web-applications used by the credit union. Areas of coverage include:
- WAN/LAN – Monitor and respond to network hardware and software problems as related to Help Desk support. Assist the IT staff in the coordination and maintenance with vendors to resolve issues and ensure reliable performance.
- Business Applications Support (including the Credit Union website and Intranet) – Provide Help Desk support to all users. Responsible for the day-to-day processes relating to the credit union’s systems and applications. Monitor Help Desk phone line and help desk support tickets. Respond to support request and escalate when necessary.
- System Support – Install and maintain user-based applications, programs, and operating systems. Perform routine administration on software and hardware. Setup and administer domain user and group accounts, Office365 services, and user mailbox administration. Monitor data backups and software security updates/patches as necessary.
- Training – Provide technical and functional training and assistance for users regarding PC’s and business applications.
Requirements:
*Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be located in and willing to travel throughout Yolo County on assignments, or must be willing to relocate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (IT related) from four-year college or university; or four years of increasingly responsible work (related experience) in a similar position or capacity; or a combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
Principles and operations of networks, operating systems, and standard software applications and hardware. Knowledge and/or experience in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to individuals and groups; research and resolve inquiries; demonstrate initiative and work independently with a minimum of supervision; work under time constraints to meet deadlines; and organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects.
