We are recruiting for a Member Relationship Specialist (33.5 hours per week) to assist our members with their financial needs. Primary responsibilities are to provide high-quality service by identifying members’ financial needs and recommending solutions that will help them achieve financial success. The Member Relationship Specialist (MRS) will assist members in performing teller transactions, opening new account and loans, and assisting members through our digital channels as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To play a vital role in helping our members achieve financial success and build wealth. Provide excellent member service through building genuine relationships with members, learning their financial goals, and finding ways to benefit them.
- Possess an effective knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services with special emphasis on how each will improve our members’ financial success.
- Provide high quality member service and enhance member relationships which includes, but is not limited to, opening new accounts, accepting and processing loan applications, and conducting other member account transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Receive callers and walk-in members, determine the nature of business, meet their needs or provide clear and courteous direction to appropriate destination.
- Contact members, businesses, and community organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.
- Effectively conduct needs-based interviews with current and potential members to build member relationships by offering appropriate products and services.
- Accurately and efficiently process new accounts including share, CD, IRA, HSA, and Trust accounts.
- Perform routine clerical support task functions including but not limited to creating loan and membership records, filing, stuffing envelopes, verifying, and processing address or email change requests.
- Ensure compliance with all security and safety policies and procedures, including following safety protocol while entering or exiting a branch.
- Guide members to use our technology offerings (ITM, mobile app, online banking, remote services, video appointments, secure messaging, etc.) and provide instruction on use as necessary.
- Process loan requests for all consumer loans and offer insurance products such as credit insurance and GAP insurance, when appropriate.
- Complete documentation and finalize loans while ensuring that members understand the terms of the loan agreement and their debt responsibilities. Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to Lending policy.
- Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
Prior consumer loan origination and funding experience preferred, but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required along with a minimum of one year experience in a customer service related role. Prior working experience with a credit union or financial institution preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating policies and procedure manuals. Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write basic correspondence and reports as well as effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to the public, members, and other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to effectively count currency and negotiable instruments and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
