Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in golf course maintenance and irrigation systems, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining irrigation setups. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency with both hand and power tools to ensure efficient irrigation solutions for various landscapes and golf course surfaces.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Applicants must have reliable attendance.
- Applicants must have a strong attention to detail.
- Applicants must be able to preform routine detailed tasks without supervision.
- Applicants will need to meet all physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to: walking, kneeling, crouching, and the ability to manually move or lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems for golf courses.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to dig trenches, install piping, and set up sprinkler systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Monitor water usage and adjust systems to optimize efficiency while ensuring proper irrigation of lawns and gardens.
- Provide recommendations for irrigation maintenance practices that enhance the effectiveness of irrigation systems.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and maintenance schedules.
- Practices safe workplace procedures and awareness.
Experience
- Proven experience in golf course maintenance or athletic fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with various types of irrigation systems and components is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Experience using power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently in outdoor environments.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- A passion for turf maintenance and landscaping will be considered a plus.
Operating various equipment used in all aspects of professional golf course operations, including but not limited to: walk-behind greens mowers, debris blowers, string trimmers, sod cutters, topdressers, aerators, tractors, fairway mowers, rough mowers, fraise mower, and walk-behind edger's
- Executing detailed tasks, including but not limited to: mowing straight lines, cleaning up weeds and debris, fine grading with shovels and rakes, etc.
- Documenting equipment issues and failures by filling out the proper documentation of a problem the same day the problem is observed
- Administering fluid levels for equipment throughout the shift: gasoline, diesel, and oil.
- Hand watering fairways, tees, rough, and sod, as well as plant material
- Sod installation and repair work
- Seed bed preparation
- May assist in fertilization of greens, tees fairways and roughs.
- The ability to install irrigation and drainage systems.

Pay: $23.62 - $27.02 per hour
