Adjunct Faculty in Mass Communications

Job Description:
Part-time faculty members in the Mass Communication program will teach courses in New Media, Communication Theory, Newswriting and Production, Persuasion and other related Communication Studies courses.  Successful candidates will be responsible for syllabus preparation, teaching an approved curriculum, conducting outcomes assessments as required, evaluating student performance, and engaging in other teaching-related duties as required.

• Prepare syllabi using programs curriculum
• Meet with classes at scheduled times
• Hold required office hour
• Use the college's learning management system to share course materials, grade assignments, etc
• Conduct outcomes assessments as directed
• Submit required warning grades and other items to the college as required

• Master's degree in Communication Studies or closely related field required.
• College teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications include the ability to communicate with students and the public.  Must also be able to apply supervisory skills, motivate students, be personable and professional, have patience with and understanding of students, and be able to learn and apply new concepts and ideas. 
Successful applicant will also have the ability to engage with colleagues in the program and complete any required items as directed by the department.
