A full-time (40 hours/week) position with the Grounds Crew is available immediately. Perform grounds keeping, snow removal, and utility tasks of various types to care for and maintain all college grounds, buildings, and related facilities. Individual is considered essential College personal and is required to work during closures and emergencies.

- Mow, trim and fertilize lawn areas.
- Prune, trim, plant, edge and mulch shrubberies and trees.
- Pick up debris, limbs, cigarette butts, paper, leaves, etc.
- Trash pick up from individual buildings and outside cans.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields.
- Sweep parking lots, driveways and sidewalks.
- Paint parking lot and roadway lines.
- Physical set-ups for College and outside events.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Moving furniture, equipment and supplies.
- Supporting other areas within Facility Services.
- Interior and exterior painting.
- Perform preventive maintenance (change oil, lubricate, sharpen blades, etc), make minor adjustments and keep equipment in good clean working order.
- Clean and secure equipment and the grounds building at the end of the work shift.
- Snow and ice removal using motorized and hand equipment.
- Spread rock salt, calcium or de-icing materials on steps, sidewalks, and roads using motorized equipment or by hand.
- Assist the College in complying with local, state, and federal laws such as recycling, waste disposal, safety, Right to Know regulations, Bloodborne Pathogens standards and chemical usage
- Practice safe work habits and be aware of safety issues that may affect the welfare of employees, students or the public.
- Operate and maintain the grounds equipment in a safe and prudent manner.
- Use chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment properly as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledgeable of lawn care and landscaping practices.
- Mechanically able to make minor adjustments to grounds keeping equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Possess or able to obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Certification.
