**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Inspector to join our team at York County, SC. As a key member of our Road Maintenance department, you will be responsible for conducting quality control and assurance inspections on roadway construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have four years of experience in road maintenance or transportation inspection, with a strong understanding of local and state codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. A valid state driver's license is required, and a Roadway Inspection Certification from the S.C. Department of Transportation is preferred.
In this role, you will conduct field inspections of road construction, drainage systems, utility and conduit installation, and sidewalks within York County's deeded right-of-way. You will also ensure that all newly constructed roadways are designed and set within the road right-of-way and that driveway accesses are constructed in accordance with York County's land development manual.
As a Transportation Inspector, you will work closely with developers, builders, and citizens to ensure compliance with established standards. You will also evaluate existing conditions and problems and inspect construction of all drainageways or drainage systems and features inside road right-of-way.
