Description
Positions available with York County Parks & Recreation Youth Soccer and Basketball Programs. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturdays during the day. Required training will be conducted prior to the start of the program Setting up areas of activities, coordinating with officials and other staff, and monitoring activities. Ensuring all policies, rules and regulations are followed. Reporting any accidents or injuries and overseeing the issuance, and care and maintenance of equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older for Field Supervisor positions.
Current enrollment or graduation from a college or university degree program in recreation, physical education or a related field, and 1 to 2 years of experience in recreation work preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must exercise considerable tact and courtesy when interacting with program participants, parents and support staff.
Requires an acceptable criminal background check.Supplemental Information
A consistent and reliable attendance record throughout the program is required.
Must be available to work a revised schedule when needed.
Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including various sports equipment, watches/clocks, time clocks, etc. Must be able to exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
