What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner I/II (Planning) position at York County?
Planner I requires a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in planning at the local government level, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Planner II requires a Master’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in local government, preferably with some lead experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities with a starting pay of $60,150 annually.
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) designation is preferred.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including a computer, printer, copier, etc. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time, while doing site or field work.For a more detailed description: View Document
