Phlebotomist

```
Duties:
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow proper procedures for specimen collection and processing
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the phlebotomy process
- Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques
- Assist with other laboratory procedures as needed

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Current certification as a phlebotomist (CPT, PBT, or similar)
- Proficient in medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of anatomy and venipuncture techniques
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
- Ability to accurately document and record information
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Skills:
- Patient care: Provide compassionate care to patients during the phlebotomy process, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Vital signs: Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and temperature.
- Medical terminology: Understand and use medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
- Laboratory procedures: Follow established protocols for specimen collection, handling, and processing in the laboratory.
- Specimen collection processing: Properly collect, label, and prepare specimens for testing.
- Laboratory: Assist with other laboratory procedures as required, following safety protocols.
- Venipuncture: Perform venipuncture using proper techniques to obtain blood samples.
- Anatomy knowledge: Understand the anatomy of veins to locate suitable sites for venipuncture.
- Patient service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
- Aseptic technique: Follow strict infection control measures to prevent contamination during specimen collection.
