ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager Wellness and Benefits, this position is responsible for providing wellness expertise to the organization through strategic planning, analysis, development, management and evaluation of Corporate Wellness Programs that support healthy lifestyle practices for Regional employees and foster organizational resilience.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Develop, implement, and promote corporate-wide employee wellness strategies, aligned with Excellence Canada’s Healthy Workplace Standard and the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
- Create, execute, and assess wellness programs that promote mental health and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Consults with management and provides advice and guidance on workplace issues applying a wellness lens.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver wellness events of various sizes and complexities.
- Lead the Corporate Wellness Engagement Committee to guide wellness initiatives and strategic direction across all departments.
- Support the design and implementation of communication and marketing strategies to raise awareness of wellness programs.
- Develop and deliver tailored wellness education for diverse employee groups, teams and management.
- Conduct needs assessments, gather feedback, and ensure wellness programs meet employee needs and industry best practices.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and applications for wellness-related awards and/or funding.
- Research and evaluate wellness initiatives and trends, providing recommendations to management.
- Maintain vendor relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance wellness offerings.
- Monitor program effectiveness, establish performance measures, and ensure alignment with regional objectives.
- Support the development and management of wellness-related policies, guidelines, and materials.
- Handle inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure wellness services meet customer service standards.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Health Sciences, Workplace Wellness, Health Promotion or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in planning, implementing and evaluating workplace wellness programs, including health promotion and health education programs.
- Experience in conducting research, including the analysis of statistical data and trends.
- Experience in development of policies, including research, writing, interpreting and evaluating policies.
- Solid understanding of and experience in implementing The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety and Excellence Canada’s Healthy Workplace Standard.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace wellness, health promotion strategies and adult education theories.
