ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for performing bindery functions, mailroom duties including tracking incoming deliveries; administrative functions including records management activities; and provides support to printshop operations with simple print requests.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Operates postage machine ensuring application of appropriate codes for chargeback purposes and appropriate postage to ensure delivery of materials, including registered mail.
• Monitors mail prepaid balance/meter and notifies manager when the balance is low.
• Processes all incoming and outgoing mail/packages and performs mailroom functions such as mail fulfillment, which includes stuffing, sorting, filing, packaging, and processing shipping, and receiving.
• Ships/receives, logs, sorts, and distribution of mail/packages/couriers appropriately with special attention to time sensitive mail/materials.
• Performs document scanning services to support digitization initiatives.
• Binds, punches, laminates, folds, inserts printed materials using various equipment, including Cerlox, AP 2 punch, spiral bindery or drill press.
• Prints simple requests as required.
• Troubleshoots machine problems and follows machine instructions to troubleshoot or advises manager of issues.
• Checks the completion of jobs against the job requisition/instructions to ensure accurate quantity and quality have been met.
• Performs filing and assists in file set up and management in accordance with the Corporate Records and Information Management Classification Coding system and Department policies.
• Filing and labeling of documents and other materials for storage and retrieval including transfers and destructions of records.
• Maintains a log to track and complete disclosure requests.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Successful completion of a Secondary School Diploma or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in administrative functions and in the operation of bindery equipment
• Demonstrated knowledge of mailroom and/or mail equipment functions.
• Knowledge in bindery processes and digital printing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability in the Region’s core competencies.
• Basic skills in virtual platforms and relevant MS Office application, as required.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy boxes and supplies up to 50lbs; to stand for long periods of time and ability to work in a mailroom and printshop environment.
