What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiter position at Yorktown Systems Group?
Yorktown Systems Group (YSG) is seeking an exceptionally qualified and motivated professional to serve as part of the YSG dedicated Recruiting Team, with a focus on YSG program and operational support. You will partner with the Director of Recruiting and other Corporate Recruiters to assess staffing needs and implement recruitment strategies to fill a variety of professional services positions across the full spectrum of YSG’s line of efforts. With your experience and expertise, you will help implement and refine internal processes for identifying, recruiting, assessing, and selecting candidates; maintaining a pipeline of potential candidates; and ensuring that the recruiting process is an appropriate reflection of the YSG culture and core values. In addition, the following are a few aspects that will be expected of you in this role:
- With a focus on finding the best candidates, you will need to be knowledgeable, personable, and capable of informing and convincing candidates of the benefits of being a Yorktown employee in these critical support positions.
- You must understand company business needs, unique candidate generation and sourcing tools, methods, and techniques, professional interview processes, techniques for crafting and presenting job offers, onboarding new hires, and techniques to quickly research and identify target candidates through our existing recruiting database and tools, job postings, and networking events.
- You will be expected to function and operate in a decentralized environment working directly with YSG Program Leadership to fill current vacancies, plan for future needs, and build networks to support current and future efforts efficiently and effectively. As a YSG Corporate Recruiter you will need to be forward leaning, always anticipating the next requirement, and looking to build capacity within the YSG Talent pool.
- An understanding of YSG’s lines of efforts and organizations, as well as the profile and characteristics of individuals needed to support those organizations, is critical.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely and build strong working relationships with hiring managers and leaders across the organization to understand current and future needs.
- Recommend and implement recruiting strategies to ensure that Yorktown stays competitive in the market and attracts, retains, and motivates its top talent.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place to comply with local and US federal legal requirements and ensure all applicant documentation and records meet compliance requirements for candidates at each phase of the recruiting process.
- Work to identify, drive and update recruiting processes designed to improve efficiencies and create a positive recruiting experience for hiring managers and candidates.
- Create job postings that are professional, articulate, and attention-grabbing to attract the right candidates, posting these ads on various online and offline resources.
- Use expertise to develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Effectively use various recruiting methods including targeted marketing and advertising within the special operations and intelligence communities, internet marketing, networking, and cold calling to source qualified candidates for positions.
- Leverage all aspects of sourcing and candidate development including job posting, job board mining, Internet sourcing, social networking, employee referrals, and networking events.
- Interview candidates to discuss the position, review their resume, screen them for suitability, and walk them through the assessment and selection process.
- Oversee an efficient and professional candidate background check; this includes social media, referral follow up, crime and credit, and security review processes.
- Evaluate interviewees by analyzing responses, noting body language, and comparing qualifications with candidate requirements.
- Serve as the liaison between the company and the candidates by handling phone calls, questions, and other details before and after interviews.
- Make job offers to applicants who are selected for hire by management by providing them with an offer letter and discussing the benefits, requirements, and details of the position
- Routinely communicate with corporate leaders and hiring managers by providing clear expectation setting and effective, timely status reports.
- Build a candidate pipeline for key positions and maintain regular contact with potential future candidates.
- Track metrics and use data for strategic analysis of recruiting campaigns and sourcing strategies.
- Identify, implement, and manage an applicant tracking system that will meet the company’s current and future needs.
- Contribute to special projects, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Due to the nature of the work and programs supported, must be a U.S. Citizen at time of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, must possess a high school diploma and more than 4 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting government and/or DoD contracts. Military service can be used in lieu of government/DoD contract experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in recruiting and hiring; or have previous experience in Human Resources and/or Personnel Management.
- Demonstrated experience conducting interviews and/or background in conducting personnel assessments.
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication abilities of persuasion and negotiation.
- Must have strong written communications skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be proficient with MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Must present a clean, professional, and respectful appearance / bearing at all times when representing Yorktown Systems Group, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries and/or partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a military, DoD and/or Government contracts recruiter.
- Previous experience in the military as a senior NCO or Officer; OR experience within the U.S. Government.
- Experience in Behavioral Interviewing techniques.
- Experience working in human resources.
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
