Description

  • Yorkville Transition Program will support our students in multiple areas that relate to their post-secondary goals around the mission and objectives of the Yorkville Transition Program through monthly schedules under the following areas,
    • Vocational Skills
    • Community Access
    • Social Connection
Length of activity (dates):

  • 1 event a month from September through July
  • Events will range from 1-3 hours

Frequency Of Meetings

1 event a month from September through July

Events will range from 1-3 hours

Planning of events for the sponsor

  • Micro event - 1-2 hours
  • Community Access events 2-3 hours a month
  • Social Connection 2-3 hours

Job Description

  • Vocational Skills
    • Contact a multitude of District personnel (including but not limited to Athletics/Even Directors, YEF, Cabinet, Club sponsors, Coaches, and Principals) to secure bi-monthly Microbusiness events and activities where students can promote and sell their business items created at YTP
    • Contact a multitude of Communities to secure bi-monthly Microbusiness events and activities where students can promote and sell their business items created at YTP
    • Communicate with the Building Admin for events and activities
    • Provide Building Admin with Newsletter information
    • Secure Building Transportation as needed for staff
    • Communicate with parents about event details such as pick up, drop off, locations, and hours
    • Communicate with the Case Manager for students' needs related to their IEPs
    • Communicate expectations for jobs and procedures for students attending the events
    • Communicate with Building Administration to determine a need for additional support related to the students' IEPs and approval
    • Communicate clear expectations of student behaviors and job skills expected at the event
    • Create materials needed such as ACC, checklist, task analysis, and social stories
    • Support Students in planning micro business events within the school district and local community
    • Support students in advertising for events within the school district and local community
    • Support students in preparing for micro business events within the school district and local community
    • Support students in fulfilling orders from events within the school district and local community
    • Support students in functional academic and vocational skills related to Microbusiness events
    • Create, maintain, and supervise students in all social media accounts connected to club activities
  • Community Access
    • Contact and assess a multitude of community events/activities/ to secure bi-monthly events to create opportunities for Community Access
    • Communicate with the Building Admin for events and activities
    • Provide Building Admin with Newsletter information
    • Secure Building Transportation as needed for staff
    • Communicate with parents about event details such as pick up, drop off, locations, hours, and if money is necessary
    • Communicate with the Case Manager for students' needs related to their IEPs

    • Communicate with other team leaders/program sponsors to plan event details and consider the needs of all students involved.
    • Communicate with the Building Admin for events and activities
    • Provide Building Admin with Newsletter information

    • Communicate with parents about event details such as pick up, drop off, locations, hours, and if money is necessary
    • Communicate with the Case Manager for students' needs related to their IEPs

    • Additional Sponsor Job Description
    • Assist in program development throughout the school year to adjust the following
    • Sponsor role and duties
    • Transportation needs
    • Discuss successful events and adjust for future years
    • Registration Fee Needs
    • Allotment of Building Budget based on data/events
    • Creation of a separate activity account for YTP Skulk Society
    • Develop clear communication expectations with all stakeholders in the program program
    • Build positive rapport with students, families, district employees, the community, and other similar programs for children or adults with disabilities.
Co-curricular Stipend Range 4 Head - $ 2,981 - $4,995 based on experience

Qualifications / Skills

Club Sponsor plans for medical, health, and needs due to students’ disabilities (Bathroom support, Medical support, ACC, Speech support, social-emotional support such as BIPS and Autism Considerations, safety, and appropriate staff-to-student ratio need to be considered when planning.)

To meet the needs of students who will participate in the club the sponsor will need to consider Aide support based on the students who are participating in each activity.

The Club Sponsor will have to secure aide support (paid per hour) based on the level of disability and students' individual needs to ensure the safety of all in each event setting.
