Quality Assurance Processing Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Quality Assurance Processing Technician to join our Brunswick, OH team. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for daily laboratory testing, production and ingredient sampling and testing, checking production batches prior to release into the room, certificate of analysis (CoA) creation and maintenance to ensure adherence to food safety, specifications, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company including but not limited to pre-operational
• checks, batch checking, analytical and micro testing, good manufacturing practice GMP) audits and inbound/outbound audits.
• Calibrates test equipment using buffer solutions and meter verification standards.
• Submits samples to external laboratory vendor for batch testing.
• Assists in oversight of processes, verifies compliance to company standards and policies, and communicates when there are deviations in standards or processes.
• Maintains organized inventory of retained products using properly labeled containers.
• Monitors Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) when necessary.
• Assists in preparation for 3rd party audits.
• Research QA issues and delivers reports to Quality & Food Safety Manager.
• Recommends and executes program enhancements to the Quality & Food Safety Manager
• Audits lot integrity by spot checking work orders, shipping and receiving documents and traceability exercises.
• Assists Research & Development team with documentation of raw material, work in progress, and finished product specifications.
• Assists in auditing first runs with R & D to ensure manufacturing understanding and
• compliance with safe food products, specifications, and work instructions.
• Maintains accurate and organized records of QA activities.
• Maintains ongoing company compliance with all applicable regulations and 3rd party auditor requirements.
• Works in conjunction with R & D to administer the manufacturing testing and retention program.
• Coordinates with laboratories when testing or research is external.
• Maintains revision control for QA documents including but not limited to specifications, processes, policy relating to QA, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and inventory control.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required
• 3-5 years of related Quality Assurance experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the flexibility to learn web technology, SAP and ERP systems and document control systems.
