What You’ll Do

Success at Young Again requires a self-starter mindset that embraces change. The nature of our business is fast paced while maintaining a strong emphasis on attention to detail. The Purchasing & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, overseeing inventory control processes, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods within the organization. This role will also encompass customer service interaction and will also manage and invoice several private label accounts. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.   


Key Responsibilities

Purchasing Management:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms.
  • Manage purchase orders, contracts, and vendor relationships and lead times.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Invoice and manage billing for private label accounts.
  • Manage suppliers paperwork for compliance for APHIS/USDA

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee regular inventory audits with warehouse staff.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.

Cost Management:

  • Analyze purchasing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage budget for purchasing and inventory activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Develop solutions to potential problems such as shipping errors, delays, or pricing errors.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, purchasing activities, and supplier performance.
  • Use data to forecast demand and plan future inventory needs.
  • Responsible for month-end activities, including inventory, warehouse, purchase orders, and assisting with accounting as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Answer client calls with professionalism and empathy.
  • Email clients to help place orders. 
  • Track orders for clients and answer product-related questions. 


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles. 
  • Work in-person at the office in Stacy, MN. 
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in a business-related major (finance, supply chain, or business) is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAGE 100 or other inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
