Reporting to the Principal and/or Assistant Principal the Master Teacher supports the Principal and Assistant Principal in his/her leadership of the school’s academic program. While the exact responsibilities of this position may vary based on placement ( i.e. Lower, Middle, High School), the Master Teacher works to achieve the academic priorities of the school in their concentration.
Job Summary:
Support Instructional team in the school, administer the daily operations, including testing and supervising the activities of the creative educators and creative learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Deans in managing creative learner behavior and communication with parents.
- Coordinate the instructional affairs with assigned departments, and externally, where pertinent.
- Direct the activities of the creative educators and creative learners and ensure a safe, orderly and smooth functioning environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with the Principal to supervise and evaluate creative educators, team leads, and any additional staff assigned.
- Provide leadership in screening and interviewing applicants and/or recommending applicants to be interviewed.
- Assist, determine, develop and implement plans for staff professional development for the building that facilitates professional growth and enhances the quality and efficiency of teaching.
- Supervise, coordinate and implement testing.
- Assist in the completion and submission of all required reports, forms, and data requests on time to the designated sources.
- Work/meet with other administrators and creative educators to foster and participate in team collaboration and effectiveness.
- Any additional duties assigned by the principal.

- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.

- Participate in assigned morning, lunch, and afternoon duties.
- Follow attendance policy as assigned by the supervisor.
- Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, school events, and serve on staff committees as required.
Reports to:
- School Principal
Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience in public education
- Louisiana Teacher Certification (preferred)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Previous experience in coordinating, implementing and supervising testing (required)
