Position Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Process Technician is responsible for leading/supporting injection mold repairs and improvements. Responsible to maintain complex manufacturing, production, and process equipment. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies equipment and systems where knowledge of interrelationships among various supporting processes and components is essential.
Essential Duties:

Assist in the development of equipment operating discipline & protocol for machine start-ups, shut-downs, cycle-time compliance, specification compliance, changeovers, purges, and routine mold/equipment maintenance

Provide technical expertise for all molding operations

Adjust injection mold machine using manual speed and pressure adjustments on all types of machines

Inspect parts under quality control procedures

Verifies conformance to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments

Troubleshoots for problems during production

Independently performs repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on all equipment

Applies aptitude for mechanical and electrical repairs and knows when to consult with engineers on any technical problems beyond ability

Develops and provides technical guidance and training to lower level trades

Comprehends and performs all required calibration procedures

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Training and Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Associate degree in technical discipline or Master Molding Certificate, preferred
-
5 – 7 years of experience in molding processes required
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
-
Requires a progressive record of continuing and broadening knowledge and scope in maintenance techniques and equipment technologies
-
Hands on injection molding setup and knowledge of mold design; and plastic process optimization
-
Must have mold maintenance experience

Project Management
-
Proficient with computers specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and control aspects of automation systems

Strong technical problem solving skills for automated systems
-
Strong interpersonal skills to work with operators, technicians, and engineers
-
Ability to identify and execute improvement project on automated molding manufacturing equipment
-
Requires comprehensive and practical knowledge in maintenance of a wide variety of equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical power, digital and analog electronics.

Ability to recognize systemic problems and develop solutions

Demonstrated analytical nature and excellent problem diagnostic skills

Strong written skills

Must be data driven
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk frequently during the shift. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed and on weekends. Finger dexterity to operate equipment required. May need to lift up to 75 lbs. on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints.
Working Conditions
Exposure to manufacturing environment, with some abnormal variations in temperature, fumes, noise, dust and atmospheric conditions.
