Description:
Young Life is looking for a candidate who is a visionary, a self-starter, and ready to develop ministry from the ground up in Malta. Malta, an archipelago in between Sicily and Tunisia, joined the EU in 2004. Youth make up about 20% of the population (about 500,000); it may be small but is full of history!
This individual will work with the regional team to build on current contacts, establish ministry, and create vision for growth. This position requires an open mind as well as strong relational and analytical skills. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate spiritual leadership on a personal and professional level.
- Participate in dynamic direct ministry with Maltese adolescents.
- Participate in staff and training events.
- Recruit and train adult action team(s) to support staff and volunteer leaders.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a relational team that reflects the community.
- Develop a plan to equip, disciple and retain volunteer leaders.
- Raise 100% of financial support and maintain good donor care practices with both local and U.S. donors.
- Communicate ministry updates and progress to donors.
- Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors for area records.
- Maintain professional relationships with school administration as well as teachers.
- Maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Curiosity, adaptability and open-mindedness regarding Maltese culture, as well as an eagerness to learn
- College degree required
- Experience working with minors is required.
- Experience as a Young Life volunteer is preferred.
- Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Three-year commitment required
Benefits:
Housing supplements and cost of living adjustments help make living overseas affordable for international staff.
