Essential Duties
- Represent Human Resources (HR) commitment to serve others with integrity and compassion, execute with excellence, and create solutions through collaborative efforts with the department and across departmental lines.
- Manage pre/current/post payroll processing activities by entering payroll data and reviewing payroll transactions for completeness and accuracy.
- Research various audit report results and issues, reconcile and balance payroll and tax accounts, process back-dated adjustments to data, and assist in preparation of W2s.
- Open garnishment cases with 3rd-party vendor and ensure accuracy within the payroll processing.
- Process expatriate foreign tax payments, and answer related questions for international accounting teams.
- Create and maintain superior customer relations within Young Life, both verbally and written.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Cover phones and email inbox M-F during core business hours, answer questions from Field staff, other departments or outside agencies to trouble-shoot problems on an individual basis involving YL reports and Payroll processes.
- Office environment.
- Due to strict adherence to payroll schedule / dates, there will be limited time off around major holidays, such as Christmas and New Year’s.
- Associates degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous payroll experience with experience in processing multi-state payroll..
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Workday.
- General knowledge of business mathematics.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving abilities.
- Specialized application and knowledge of standard payroll concepts.
- Analysis and audit skills required for the processing of payroll data.
- Ability to work effectively in a small group.
