Summary:
The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by managing inventory control processes. This position is responsible for conducting inventory audits, resolving discrepancies, supporting rework and reclassification activities, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The Inventory Specialist ensures all processes are performed in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
· Conduct daily inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies; perform necessary adjustments (40%)
· Process inventory return reports and relocate excess inventory to appropriate backstock locations (20%)
· Order, assemble, and manage components for rework orders (10%)
· Update Bill of Materials (BOM) and upload to Quality Management System (QMS) (5%)
· Prepare and process reclassification transactions in the inventory system (5%)
· Create and verify work order packets, including BOMs and finished product specs (5%)
· Participate in cross-training activities across other manufacturing areas (10%)
· Perform additional tasks as assigned (5%)
Skills and Qualifications:
· Proficiency in basic math and measurements (kilograms, milliliters)
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Inventory/QMS software
· Strong comprehension of procedural and safety documentation in English
· Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
· Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing processes
· Regular and punctual attendance; strong organizational and documentation skills
Required Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Preferred Education and Experience:
· One to three months of inventory-related experience and/or training
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
