Overview
The Compliance Specialist will oversee compliance for specific properties assigned.
Position Responsibilities
· Assist with HUD and LIHTC ARs, IRs, ICs, TMs, MIs & MOs.
· Tracking completion of the monthly AR notices, HAP payments, HAP/TRACS and the amount requested/approved, late certifications, approved HAPS and monthly EIV reports, AMRS & MHEG Reporting.
· Managing documents and processes in regards to MORs/REACs.
· Working with PHA on designated properties.
· Submit and reconcile the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).
· Assist with submitting LIHTC and HUD move outs to AP.
· Ensure organization remains in compliance with HUD Federal Guidelines.
· Work with site staff to correct resident/subsidy ledger deficiencies.
· Managing notices and posting for Gross Rent and follow up on Gross Rent deficiencies.
· Other duties assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education/ Experience
- High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred.
- At least two years working in rental housing operations (section 8, PHA, or LIHTC experience).
- Must have hands on experience processing 555059s, 50058, or TICS.
- Extensive office and computer skills.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or TCS (Tax Credit Specialist)/HCCP preferred, but not required.
- Fair Housing certification required prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.

- Demonstrate ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and initiate appropriate course of action.

- Must have strong computer skills; keyboard, internet search, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of property management software; ResMan preferred.
- Participate in training or licensing to comply with new or existing laws.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. The employee is required to drive and/or ride in a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to travel throughout the metro area, sometimes with short notice, have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation. Traveling to Topeka and Warrensburg areas as needed.
Position Type
Work is performed in a Corporate office and multifamily affordable apartment community setting. This position is full-time; Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00a-5:00p with occasional weekend availability.
