POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The YMCA Member Engagement & Recruitment Director plays a vital role in enhancing member satisfaction, retention, and acquisition. This position involves coordinating branch-specific events and incentives to enrich member experiences and foster long-term engagement. This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building lasting relationships with members and partners. The YMCA Member Engagement & Recruitment Director is integral to creating a welcoming, innovative, and impactful experience for all members.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Collaborating with senior branch staff to achieve branch and Association goals for member growth and retention.
  • Assisting in the creation and execution of internal and external marketing strategies to promote member engagement initiatives.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for addressing member needs and concerns, ensuring a high-quality experience for all YMCA members.
  • Supporting the Membership Sales and Experience Director in designing and implementing strategic promotions, member appreciation events, and initiatives aimed at driving recruitment and retention.
  • Developing creative approaches to grow, organize, and communicate with corporate member accounts effectively.
  • Building meaningful relationships with members to promote their personal growth and connection to the YMCA mission.
  • Serving as customer care for the AI chatbot, social media platforms, and other forms of communication with members and potential members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field as well as a minimum of 1 year experience in communication, sales, marketing, business, or related field.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the YMCA’s mission and values to staff, volunteers, members, and guests through daily operations both within the membership community and building.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, and conceptual planning
  • Must be self-directed, innovative and creative.
  • Experience in the field of sales, customer relations, and marketing.
  • Experience in office/administrative support and computer knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAININGS:
  • CPR, First Aid/AED within 30 days of employment.
  • YMCA Safety Trainings within 30 days of employment.
