General Function
The Pathways to Strength Coordinator is responsible for the overall management, development, and success of the Pathways to Strength program, designed to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. This role oversees program instructors and volunteers, ensures staff certifications and training, and builds strong connections with participants, caregivers, and community partners. The Coordinator works closely with the CEO to enhance program quality, drive community engagement, and support marketing and fundraising efforts. By fostering a supportive and empowering environment, the Coordinator plays a vital role in helping participants achieve their health and wellness goals.
Essential Duties
Program Leadership :
Oversee and guide all instructors and volunteers involved in the Pathways to Strength program.
Ensure all program staff maintain up-to-date certifications and provide additional training and mentorship as needed.
Manage participant enrollment and maintain accurate program records.
Community Engagement and Awareness :
Collaborate with the CEO and the Parkinson’s Advisory Group to strengthen program partnerships with local hospitals and physicians.
Organize and execute initiatives for Parkinson’s Awareness Month in April, partnering with community organizations to increase awareness and recruit new participants.
Administrative Duties :
Assist in marketing and promotional efforts to grow program participation.
Support fundraising events and initiatives to enhance program sustainability.
Work closely with the CEO and Advisory Group on strategic program development and community outreach.
Participant Support and Staff Development :
Provide direct guidance and support to staff working with participants to ensure best practices in Parkinson’s care and exercise.
Monitor program quality, participant satisfaction, and overall outcomes.
Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for participants and caregivers.
Qualifications :
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Parkinson’s-specific certification (e.g., PWR!Moves or equivalent).
Basic YUSA Strength and Conditioning certification or equivalent.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with prior experience overseeing staff and volunteers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage participants, staff, and community stakeholders.
Passion for serving individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers.
Qualifications
Proven experience in community development or related roles.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of community resources and social services.
Experience in program development, grant writing, and project management.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in community work.
