POSITION SUMMARY
The Instructor, Group Exercise, working as part of the Health and Wellbeing Team, will deliver world-class customer service and use relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The instructor will lead aerobic and conditioning classes under the general guidance of the Director Health and Wellbeing, consistent with the philosophy, policies and purpose of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as an instructor for fitness classes
- When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for their class, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution
- The instructor is responsible for the proper care of any equipment used in class and reporting the need for repairs to their supervisor promptly
- Certified as a YMCA Exercise Instructor, you are encouraged to participate in any training workshops that pertain to the field
- Be prepared with appropriate dress and appropriate music
- Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility
- Identify leaders for recruitment of volunteers/staff
- Attend all training courses, staff meetings and in-services without exception
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans

Qualifications & Benefits
QUALIFICATIONS
- Obtain YMCA Orientation to Healthy Living within 90 days of hire via online course.
- Must have YMCA Instructor Training or one of the approved National Certifications at least 104 hours of documented teaching experience.
- Current CPR certification and Standard First Aid certification
