Position Summary: 

The Sales Executive is responsible for the planning and implementation of one or more of the following:  All sales aspects with a focus on group sales, season ticket sales, and individual ticket sales with the opportunity to grow into a sales role that includes sponsorship sales.

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Meets individual sales goals and overall goals for the Youngstown Phantoms.

2. Responsible for the planning and implementation of the following: Group Sales, School Day Sales, Fundraising Sales, Season Tickets and Sponsorships

3. Planning and implementing sales strategies for specified duties and responsibilities to meet established sales goals and objectives. 

4. Design targeted sales pitches with the marketing team and/or group sales to reach specific constituents and acquire new partners and fans.  

5. Builds and manages a portfolio of prospects and personally cultivates and solicits groups and season ticket holders. 

6. Develop and manage stewardship programs for targeted constituents.  

7. Conducts sales presentations to community groups and civic organizations, corporate sponsors, and schools and will work with game-day operations for special game-day activities. 

8. Assists with sales and marketing pitches as assigned. 

11. Other duties as required. 

Technical Expertise

1. Experience in professional sales with a proven record of successful results is required; sports management is preferred.  

2. Experience in the areas of group sales, season ticket sales, and corporate partnerships

3. Experience in management, public relations, or a strong background in sales/customer service is required.  

4. Experience using basic accounting and financial procedures is required. 

5. Experience in public speaking is required. 

6. Experience developing and managing budgets and meeting financial goals and objectives is required.  7. Experience with sales cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship is required.  

8. Travel and a valid Ohio driver’s license is required. 

9. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required. 

10. Proficiency in Google Applications (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drives) or similar software is required, and knowledge of TicketMaster Applications (TM1, TMWinn).

Education and Experience 

1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business administration, public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field is required.

2. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred. 

Working conditions 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear, and speak. 

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 

• The noise level in the work environment varies. 
• This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week with typical work hours being 8.00a through 5.00p;  additional or irregular work hours will be required including all game days, evenings, and weekends.
