Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals facing various challenges, including mental health issues, physical disabilities, and emotional difficulties. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing personalized rehabilitation plans, and facilitating both individual and group counseling sessions. The Rehabilitation Counselor will work collaboratively with clients, families, and other professionals to promote recovery and enhance the quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health, behavioral health, and emotional well-being.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement in their rehabilitation process.
- Offer support in areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and family counseling to address diverse client backgrounds.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of client information.
- Collect and analyze data related to client progress and program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and resources for clients.
- Educate clients and their families about available resources and coping strategies for improved outcomes.
Experience
- A degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or behavioral health settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with coding practices related to mental health services is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques such as individual group counseling and child family counseling is beneficial.
- Experience working with specific populations is advantageous but not mandatory.
