What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director position at Youth Development Company/PAL?
The ECE Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of programming to ensure that each activity
functions at the highest quality standard. They are responsible for planning and supervising daily operations of
developmentally appropriate activities; socially, physically and emotionally. The duties include hiring qualified staff, setting
budgets, working on the business and proactively communicating with parents to accommodate their child’s needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
● Must be 21 years old
● High School Diploma or GED required.
● Must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Associate’s degree or Higher in Child development
field with minimum of 480 hours experience (one year related experience preferred) in a Licensed Child care center or
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development or child related field with one year related
experience preferred not required
● Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and current trends in early childhood education.
● Must complete 26 hours of professional development annually
● Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
● Must pass criminal background check and fingerprinting, and TB Test.
● Current in First Aid/CPR Certification (or within 3 months of employment)
● Must be able to travel among our centers when needed
