Summary
The Community Support Specialist works as a member of the 6th Street Center for Youth team. The position involves providing individuals/peers with assistance to promote independence and well-being through support for daily living, connection to resources, and advocating for their needs. This support includes individual and in group, sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, permanent and stable housing, and making changes through skill development.
Education and/or Experience
The Community Support Specialist works as a member of the 6th Street Center for Youth team. The position involves providing individuals/peers with assistance to promote independence and well-being through support for daily living, connection to resources, and advocating for their needs. This support includes individual and in group, sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, permanent and stable housing, and making changes through skill development.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences preferred and one-year full time experience or;
- AA degree in Behavioral Science and two years full time experience
- Strong understanding of community resources and services
The estimated base pay for the Community Support Specialist is $20.00 to $26.00; additional individual compensation may be available. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefit program is available for qualifying position.
