Job Summary
The Staff Accountant plays an integral role in the success of the Finance team. This position will provide financial support for yli’s programs by collaborating closely with finance staff overseeing the accounts receivable and accounts payable work. This can include invoicing, handling expenses and timesheet allocations, payroll processing, in addition to other accounting and finance needs. As with all of the positions at yli, the Staff Accountant will promote a team approach and is expected to work with high ethical and integrity standards and to model these behaviors for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial (90%)
- Prepare monthly invoices for program contracts and track receivables.
- Produce funder grant and contract reporting
- Maintain vendor, funder, and employee profiles
- Month end activities, including expense reallocation, account reconciliations, etc.
- Maintain accounting files and supporting documentation in secure accounting cloud folders with hard-copy archives as needed
- Provide annual budget development support
- Support Concur/Ramp expense processing, as needed
- Support payroll processing
- Assist in annual audit and other fiscal review preparation, providing supporting documentation as requested
- Conduct transaction research as needed
- Ad-hoc reporting as needed for staff, funders and board
Organizational Leadership (10%)
Contribute to yli’s organizational mission and goals:
- Actively participate in organization-wide committees, meetings and activities, including organizational anti-racism work.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s and/or Accounting degree, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
- Experience and knowledge of nonprofit accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
- Experience using Desktop version of QuickBooks enterprise-level accounting systems in a secure cloud environment (or other enterprise business accounting application)
- Computer literate in Mac or PC Platform; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Applications
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving

Physical Requirements
- Occasional in-state travel required.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
- Capacity to communicate effectively via email, phone, and video call.
- Sitting and typing required, for several hours per day.
Salary : $63,000 - $67,500
