Job Type:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary and preventative care, including routine check-ups, immunizations, and screenings.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions commonly affecting at-risk youth (e.g., asthma, diabetes, STIs, sickle cell, and hypertension).
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with the Department of Juvenile Justice rules and regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and care planning meetings.
- Assist in developing Facility Operating Policies and Procedures for medical and dental episodic and emergency care, including annual reviews and revisions.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease prevention and health awareness.
Other Duties Include:
- Conduct health screenings, sick calls, and triage medical concerns.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatments, and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on medical best practices and emergency response.
- Participate in staff development and training sessions.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Certified Nurse Practitioner (Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - APRN) with an active, unrestricted Florida license (per Chapter 464, F.S.).
- Education: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum experience in Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine with a focus on adolescent health.
- Skills: Strong clinical decision-making, independent practice capability, and ability to work with at-risk youth populations.
- Certifications: CPR certification required.
