Key Responsibilities:
Provides staff development in a specific program to include other sites as needed. The Staff Development Coordinator works in conjunction with the Compliance Team to ensure that training requirements are met with state guidelines and the contractual requirements.
- Coordinates new hire training with Facility Administrator and Human Resources.
- Responsible for training each staff member assigned to the applicable facility.
- Establishes a tracking system to ensure that all staff are up to date with the required state mandated trainings.
- Ensures that all training files are organized and completed properly per established state guidelines.
- Assists with the revision/development of training materials as needed.
- Provide on the job trainings at the conclusion of all new hire required trainings.
- Assist and provide on the spot coaching and support to the overall day to day operations during none training classes.
- Provide coverage and assistance in ratio when needed or as directed by the on-site Facility Director.
Other Duties Include:
- Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
- Participate in training and development activities as required.
- Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
- Report any use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Experience: Two years relevant training experience is preferred. Must have the following training certifications: First Aid, CPR, PAR, or Victim of Crime.
- Skills: Detail oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to work independently and utilize initiative, ability to be organized and to meet deadlines. Proficient in Windows environment, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), ability to learn and utilize other software programs.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time. Must be free of communicable diseases as required by the state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law. Must be able to travel to and from programs when needed for training purposes.
- Other: Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
