Position Summary: As the Co-Lead Teacher for our Outdoor Explorers program, you will be responsible for developing and leading dynamic, hands-on outdoor activities that connect students to the natural world around them. For the entire eight weeks of this program, you will collaborate with our founder to design innovative curricula, manage instructors, and guide students K-3 in afterschool classes - ensuring exceptional experiences for our program participants.
*** Note: This position is urgently hiring, we are specifically looking for applicants that are available from 2PM-5PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Thank you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Making meaningful connections with all students during programs, ensuring their class participation and overall safety at all times.
- Independently develop engaging, nature-inspired projects and lesson plans for students ages K-3
- Lead and manage a two hour afterschool program, providing guidance, feedback, and support
- Coordinate logistics for Outdoor Explorers programs, including supply procurement, lesson plans, schedule management, and participant communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school partners, community organizations, and families.
- Monitor program quality and collect feedback to continuously improve the student experience.
- Deliver daily class summaries to management, record engaging media during programming for social media, and manage databases for Non-Media Release students.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience leading nature-based educational programming for youth
- Strong knowledge of our local ecosystem
- Exceptional instructional and classroom management skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for outdoor education, environmental stewardship, and youth development
- Completed, or pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field.
*All Teachers will be responsible for providing their own transportation*
