Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the CBP-PSB Counselor will provide several models of intervention to youth and their families who experience mental and behavioral health challenges.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Assessment: Conduct initial assessments with clients to determine the level of care.
2. Treatment Plans: assist the client in the development of personal treatment plans.
3. Caseload: Maintain a caseload of clients ensuring that a minimum of 20 hours of direct service, whether it is individual, group, or family sessions, is provided to clients per week.
4. Groups: Facilitate group sessions by providing relevant information and educational material to clients and families in a group setting.
5. Samples: Collect urine samples as needed for analysis.
6. Transportation: Transport clients to and from the services utilizing Youth Outreach Services vehicles or personal vehicles.
7. HIPPA: Full access to client information
8. Other functions: The agency may assign other functions to the job at its discretion.
What You Bring?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for counseling-related programs.
- Skills: Strong verbal/writing communication, and organizational skills.
- Certifications: Valid Illinois driver’s license; additional certifications (e.g., CADC/ Clinical Licensure, LSW) may be required depending on the program.
- Other Requirements: Access to an insured vehicle and a clean driving record.
